Established in 1845, Furness Brick is an independent, family-run brick manufacturer. We specialise in the production of traditional pressed, clamp, handmade facing bricks and pavers. Centuries of brick-making expertise enables us to manufacture bespoke blends, weathered bricks, non-standard and imperial sizes in a wide variety of colours and textures.
Traditional Methods
Created through the evolution of our traditional production methods and highly skilled brick matching services, we have developed and refined century old processes. Chester Storyhouse
Chester Storyhouse was renovated using a bespoke brick specially developed by Furness Brick, in consultation with Bennetts Associates and PLF Ltd.
The architecture of a 1930s Art Deco cinema has been the springboard for a vibrant and dynamic new public building, in the city of Chester. With its major extension housing a new theatre the complex is an inspirational entertainment centre. Although a substantial addition, it does not compromise the significant street presence of the former building. In architectural style it does not emulate the Art Deco style of the older building. However, the brick for the new structure has been chosen to match the colour and texture of the original ones.

Our years of expertise and craftsmanship in brick making, enables us to manufacture any purpose made or non-standard special to order. In addition, we offer the full range of British standard special shapes in metric and imperial sizes. These can be made to match our ranges of facing bricks, in a wide variety of colours and textures to suit your project.
